What inspired you to pursue a career in accounting?
There are several reasons why an interviewer might ask this question to an accounting instructor. First, the interviewer may be interested in the instructors personal story and how they became interested in accounting. This can help the interviewer understand the instructors motivations and whether they are truly passionate about the subject. Additionally, the interviewer may want to know if the instructor has any real-world experience in accounting, which can be valuable in the classroom. Finally, the interviewer may simply be trying to get to know the instructor better and build rapport. Regardless of the reason, it is important for the instructor to be able to articulate their motivations for pursuing a career in accounting.
Example: “ I was always interested in numbers and solving puzzles, so accounting seemed like a natural fit for me. I also liked the idea of working with businesses and helping them to be successful. Pursuing a career in accounting has allowed me to combine my interests and talents, and I feel very lucky to have found such a great profession. ”
How do you think your experience as an accountant would benefit your students?
The interviewer is trying to gauge whether the candidate has the necessary real-world experience to be an effective accounting instructor. It is important for instructors to have relevant work experience in their field so that they can share their first-hand knowledge with students and better prepare them for careers in the accounting field.
Example: “ My experience as an accountant would benefit my students in a few ways. First, they would learn how to manage their finances and keep track of their expenses. This is an important skill for anyone, but it is especially important for those who are starting their own businesses. Second, they would learn how to prepare financial statements and understand financial ratios. This knowledge would help them interpret financial data and make sound investment decisions. Finally, they would learn about tax laws and regulations. This would help them minimize their tax liability and maximize their return on investment. ”
I would define team work as getting the job done As Accounting Lecturer whether that means if I have to do more then the guy next to me as long as the work gets finished.
One of the most useful interview tactics is to remain positive about your work and achievements. This question lets the candidate draw on their own personal history to show how they have been positive and successful in the face of difficulties. Choose a specific occasion to describe, rather than dealing with generic platitudes.

Dont say anything that could eliminate you from consideration for the job. For instance, “Im slow in adapting to change” is not a wise answer, since change is par for the course in most work environments. Avoid calling attention to any weakness thats one of the critical qualities the hiring manager is looking for. And dont try the old “Im a workaholic,” or “Im a perfectionist.
