Accounting Questions For Interview Genpact

Where do you see yourself in five years from now?

Try to connect your future with Genpact. Think about a career path you could take with the company, starting from your entry level job. It can be a path leading to management, consulting, accounting, whatever–the options are nearly endless with this business process management giant.

Show them that you are serious with your intentions, and have some goals–since each responsible employee have them–they help with motivation in tough times.

How do you feel about doing night shifts?

Most Genpact customers are based in US, but most employees are based in India or other Asian country. If you are also based in Asia, most likely you will have to do night shifts.

Tell them that you count with this aspect of the job, that you knew about it before you applied. You can say that you do not struggle with maintaining your concentration during the night, and believe that your body will get used to night shifts.

Special Tip: Download the full list of questions in a one page long PDF, and practice your interview answers anytime later:

Describe a conflict you had with one of your former colleagues/classmates.

Conflict is pretty common in every workplace. You should clearly explain the conflict situation, what happened, your point of view, and the point of view of another conflict party. Try to speak in a calm manner, do not get carried away by your emotions.

You can even pick a situation when you were wrong–showing the interviewers that you can admit making a mistake. This will impress them even more than a story of you emerging victorious from a conflict with your superior… Remember that it is your attitude that matters, not the particular situation you narrate.

Tell us something abut your education/experience.

Genpact has excellent training program for new hires, and honestly they do not care much about your previous experience (especially when you apply for entry level position with the company).

But they will still ask about your experience, to understand something about your loyalty and attitude to work. Try to speak nicely about your former jobs, bosses and colleagues. Briefly explain what you did and what you learned in your last job.

If you can find any connection, say how it helped you to prepare for the duties you will respond for at Genpact.

  • What do you know about Genpact?

Obviously you can find a lot of information about the company, ranging from factual data (over 100,000 employees worldwide, founded in India back in 1997, the key business areas) to controversy and financial data about the company. The key is to focus on the positives, and find something about the company that resonates with you. At the end of the day Genpact is a huge operation, and they do not expect you to know it inside out before you even start working for the company. Head to their website, check something about the operations and working culture, pick things you find interesting, make notes, and bring them to the interview with you. Showing them that you care and did your research beforehand will only help you in the interview.

In the worst possible case (if you forget everything due to nerves or arrive unprepared to the interview), you can simply say that Genpact is a successful multinational company specializing in professional consulting services related mostly to IT. And who wouldn’t want to work for such a company nowadays, when IT and AI in particular is the biggest buzzword out there?
