“How do you stay informed on current events and advancements in healthcare?”
Just as with the previous question, this one presents an opportunity to highlight your knowledge and awareness of healthcare advancements and issues.
It’s important not to shrug off this healthcare-related question, as it may make you seem out of touch with the current healthcare environment.
Instead, try to speak specifically about healthcare advancements and issues you follow or understand. If anything, you can turn industry trends into your interview edge.

Sample answer: “I like to read healthcare blogs with updated information and industry news. I am also a member of healthcare organizations on LinkedIn, which has helped me stay up-to-date with the latest healthcare advancements.”

Example: “I once had a patient who was upset because he felt like I wasn’t listening to him. He started raising his voice and making accusations about me not caring about his health. I remained calm and asked him if we could speak privately so that no one else would hear us. Once we were alone, I apologized for seeming distracted and assured him that I cared deeply about his well-being. He calmed down after that and thanked me for taking the time to talk to him.”
Example: “I think it’s important to be friendly and empathetic when talking to customers on the phone. I would make sure to listen carefully to what they’re saying, so I can understand their issue completely. If there’s a solution to their problem, I would offer it right away. If not, I would find out more information about their issue before offering solutions.”
This question can help the interviewer determine if you have experience working with a specific type of claim. If you do, they may ask more questions about your experience to see how it relates to their company. If you don’t have experience working with medical claims, you can answer honestly and explain that you’re willing to learn.
