  • DescriptionWork Location Mocksville – 2000 Home Office Job? No Job Description and Qualifications Job Summary: Designs/updates in-house manufacturing equipment controls systems, as well as directing the manufacture of equipment built by outside vendors, which includes both new and retrofit equipment of existing production lines. Coordinates between manufacturing, maintenance, outside vendors, and the engineering department to accomplish a given project. ESSENTIAL ACCOUNTABILITIES: 1 : Reviews future projects with Manager of Manufacturing Engineering for cost estimation, layout and impact. 2 : Supervises Drafter Designers, Engineering Technicians, and Controls Specialist, as needed per the project to be accomplished. 3 : Informs Manufacturing Engineering Manager of project costs for line parts lists. 4 : Prepares, implements, and repairs mechanical mechanisms in a timely manner. 5 : Some manufacturing line hands-on investigation and repair required. 6 : Assumes other duties as assigned by supervisor. THE MOST IMPORTANT ACTIVITIES PERFORMED: 1 : Manages and develops new product lines. 2 : Manages and develops retrofits of old lines. 3 : Search continually for process improvement. 4 : Must be capable of carrying out process analysis. 5 : Must be knowledgeable in manufacturing processes. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 1 : Light office duties and activities. 2 : Ability to work within a production facility, often times requiring prolonged standing and walking. 3 : Ability to inspect machinery, often times requiring movement of machinery or garage door parts. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED (EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS): 1 : Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent. 2 : Ability to work in a manufacturing environment and communicate with upper management, peers, vendors, and production workers. 3 : Minimum of seven (7) years experience in Manufacturing Engineering. 4 : Experience with maintaining multiple tasks. 5 : Possess a working knowledge of equipment hardware and software. 6 : Understanding of the manufacturing process needed to produce a given product. 7 : Ability to implement mechanical mechanisms to produce desired product. 8 : Be familiar with material science for tooling. 9 : Possess adequate skill with computers and software used by engineering. 10 : Minimum of five (5) years experience with machinery control systems. 11 : Ability to work flexible hours when needed.
